ok guys and gals i know your thinking why does this guy need to know how to replace a heater core in the middle of summer well the car is a convertible and at night it does get cold and it is steaming up the front window so how hard of job is it to replace a heater car on a 1990 ford mustang convertible 5.0

A PITA.... you have to take most of the dash out and be able to work in tight places....

Not much fun! take your time, mark or remember where bolts and cables go.
I did car heating and air for around 3 years. Not much fun when you have big hands! You'll get it! Good luck.

There is an article on it with good instructions and details on one of the major sites. I used it and did several in about 3-4 hours each.

I've heard from a few people that the 4 eye interiors...you can take the glove box out and the core is right there. Can anyone verify this? My car needs a new one as well.

as far as i know as long as it is a non ac car all you got to do is drop the glove box but if it has ac you got to drop the dash

Non A/C cars, are a breeze (as stated). I changed the core, in my '84, in about 4 hours (A/C car).

Yeah my car originally had AC. I guess you get to pull all that junk out at the same time if you don't have AC right?

you can pull all the stuff out but you still got to use the heater box all we did with mine was cut off the ends on the firewall
