I had Jimsvt build me a batt box a while back but the car I meant to put it in never got finished. Well my current car does not need one either so I am going to part with it. It is an extremely stout piece, much stronger than the aluminum one you get from the mail order places. Measurements are 12in wide 9in deep and 10.5in tall. It should fit most batteries. It would also make a great ballast box. $70 takes it home.

BTW I had a buddy that bought a couple of these as well and had them polished. Damn that looked like mirrors.

I know someone could use a VERY nice batt box. How about shooting me an offer.

An optima will fit. I bought another of Jim's boxes for my car a while back. Super nice box, you just have to cut it down an inch or two to make it fit into a coupe trunk.

anyone know if it is Nhra legal?

I'm not sure exactly what the NHRA rule book says exactly but if the aluminum ones that are sold are legal I would not see why this wouldn't be. It is ALOT more sturdy than the aluminum ones.

Looks very similar to the Taylor box i have, Only thing it may need is a vent tube out of the car.

Will an OPTIMA yellow top fit in this box? If so, and it's still available for the NMRA event , I'll take it.

Yes the Optima will fit. I should be able to find someone that can bring the stuff to you as I will not be able to make it. Unfortunately I have family stuff I have to do. I'll keep you posted who I find to haul it to C'bus. Thanks.

So this will not fit into a coupe without modifying?

Just depends on what part of the trunk you want to mount it in. If you want to mount it towards the sides it is just a tad tall. If you mount it in the middle or in the spare tire well it will be fine. Like Paul said you have plenty of room to trim it down if need be. BTW I had a friend who had one of these polished and it turned out killer. Just let me know.
