I'm getting ready to add some breathing mods to my GT, 4.6PI car.
What MAF, Plenum, and Throttle Body does everyone reccomend? I don't want to break the bank, but I do want performance.

I am not really sure you would see much if any gain by installing a new MAF if the car is pretty much stock. As far as the TB and Plenum the Accufab seems to be the one of choice but its also the most expensive. You want to check out www.modulardepot.com They has a series of tests on the different combos posted on their website.

i think for the cost the Dragon set up is one of the better ones. Accufab gives nice numbers but is money!

Accufab and JLT are some of the best out there, but if you're near stock you won't see much in gains. :dunno:
Best intake mod is a nice blower with a JLT setup on it. ;)

Car will eventually be supercharged, but Im getting ready to move, and I need to do this one step at a time.
JLT? Heard of em, never looked into them.

I have the C&L upper, BBK75mm TB and C&L CIA and it works great. Still have the stock MAF. You don't need to change it unless your maxing it out.

I see, I had heard that going with the lightning MAF would make a few more hp, (like 5 at the crank)

Has anyone tried JLT's Plenum and TB? Their prices seem really low?

haha how about I tow the stang behind the X and race you with both separately :D
upgrading doesn't yield the types of gains people hope for. The best bang for the buck induction mod is the forced type :lol:

It will be close vs the Xploder!
I have a 1996 Xploder with the 4.0 OHV, I think its talking smack about yours lol

Of course, all im hoping for is a tenth and a solid foundation to supercharge this winter :)

the LMAF would be beneficial once you supercharge it. Plus they are pretty cheap now a days. I picked one up for $75 the other day for my turbo project.

Yeah, I've been seeing them go for around that. Im just kinda, wary about going with JLT stuff, Ive head good things, but I rarely ever see a vehicle with it on it.

you could always start a trend. I've heard good things as well. To me they all pretty much do the same thing its just if you want it to look pretty or not.

I would look into Tuneable Inductions... or they are also called Denscharger. I have their CAI and I have been nothing but pleased with it. As far as a Plenum and TB, if you have the coin, go with Accufab; nothing beats their quality..I just bought their 75MM system yesterday

I should add that's the best setup (IMO) on a blown Mustang. On an OEM stocker I wouldn't even mess with these parts and put the money into the exhaust system.
Again, JMO...

Well, the plan is to eventually charge the car. So intake mods now is less money later.

I recently put a JLT cold air intake on my car($219). Paired it up with a "big air" sct mass airflow sensor($299). I picked up 15 rwhp with it N/A. Thats not too bad, had to get the MAF because I upgraded to 39 lb injectors with my Dry shot. Make sure your stock MAF will fit on the JLT kit, mine would not.

Hey stroker, I actually have a K&N CAI on it now. I hadn't planned on changing that one.
How involved is the stroker build? Do you have to notch the block as in 347 builds? Or is it simply (I put that in the most general of terms) like rebuild?

Yeah I had the K and N filtercharger on it stock, the JLT added 15 rwhp is all. There is no notching of the block necessary, the stroke isn't that big of a change. Didn't really pick up much power with the extra 21 cubes but added all forged internals. Makes me feel better when spraying the bitch.

I did long tubes at the same time I did my 75mm Accufab w/plenum. When I got dyno tuned we saw a 21 rwhp and 33 rwtq gain. If you divide that number up between what people claim on long tubes and t/b w/plenums, I'd say the intake side netted me 9-10 rwhp and 7-9 rwtq. I could probably squeeze a pony or two out it my set up if I ditched the BBK hot air intake....JLT for sure. MAF; don't need it now. Wait till you throw some boost or spray at it.
