Well if you're replacing the tranny I HIGHLY advise you put in a new clutch as well... that involves taking the bellhousing off. As far as the bolts not breaking loose, just make sure you have the right size socket, preferably a 6 point, and a breaker bar. I stress on replacing the clutch however.

Yea i must agree, and you might want to consider an upgraded tranny. As i fell victim to T5-itis,i boiled through 4 of them and finally bought a tremec.Just a thought.

If you can get some heat on the bell where the bolts thread in, that should help. The first time I did a t5 it was a bitch to get those 4 bolts out. I used a propane torch to heat the bell around the bolts and they popped loose realtivly easy.Just be careful with the flame so you dont catch the carpet on fire through the floorboard.

the clutch is not that old in the coupe i have. the tranny i am talking about is in my hatchback that im using the tranny out of for my coupe. trust me i wouldnt want to do this twice. when i did it in the coupe i did it from the bell housing. the hatchback has a blown engine in going to be taking some parts off and then getting rid of. thanks for the info.
