Some of you may already have seen this on the news the other day... but back in 1957 in Tulsa Oklahoma, they buried a BRAND SPANKING NEW '57 Belvedere to be awarded at the 2007 Tulsarama festival to the closest living relative of the person that guessed what the population of Tulsa would be in '07..... my guess is, they probably dont want the car now...

check out www.buriedcar.com

and if you Love MoPars or still have a soft spot for em like me, you may need some tissues...

Yeah that car is a complete loss. People were talking about restoration....hell that car is scrap metal...period. It's a damn shame too since it is in fact brand new technically.

yeah, its too bad, just goes to show how poor of technology we had back in the day... concrete and moisture just go together... and a better way to seal the vault would have been a good idea... but you know someone out there will help the people who recieved it restore it... it would only make sense that it will have several hundred thousand dollars wasted on it...

wouldnt have been soo bad if it was elevated by large jackstands on the frame in several places... and wrapping it in plastic... jeeze...

With the history of the car and the people that turned out from all over the world to se the unveiling you know someone will pay crazy money for the car AS-IS

I'm sort of betting that Chip Foose gets ahold of it but who knows. Maybe they can call up Xibit and he'll pimp it for them...

Judging by the pictures, they buried it right under a city street.......that was dumb. Most of what you see that car covered in is mud, which means it been underwater most of its life. Probably sewer sludge and all kinds of crap and runoff from the storm drains. They should have buried it out in the country where its nice and dry. It would probably still look like new. What a waste. I like those old plymouths too. Ever since I saw that movie "christine"

That's a damn shame. I dont know who in their right mind would do something like that and not think that after 50yrs it wouldn't be trash. I'd like to see Xzibit from West Coast Customs do a makeover on that.
