Not sure on what to recommend for you as far as the best street tire for use at the track. But once you decide what you want...give my sister Beth at the Bob Summeral store in Ft. Wright a call. She is the assistant manager and does what she can on prices for stangbangerz.

My srt4 came with teh BFG KDW2's and they seem to be pretty decent...except in snow. From what I have heard they can get noisy as they wear but i doubt on a mustang with aftermarket exhaust you would even notice it.

Do you drive the car year round? I'm starting to become a firm believer that street tires just don't hook at all.

IMO, I think its a waste of money to buy expensive street tires that might hook decent, when you probably could have gotten a nice set of cheaper street tires, and a set of dr's for close to the same price. I went with my tires because they were very cheap($350 for all four), knowing that they don't hook very well but are a really good street tire, and knowing that I'll be buying some DR's.

If I had to buy street tires again, I would probably go with Falken Ziex Ze-512's.

I've been happy with my Nitto 555's from discounttiredirect.com. They seem to wear well, which is good as fast as I like to burn through them! :bigthumb

just get some Mickey Thompson Drag Radials ... those will be more than fine, since you're pretty much stock and running an automatic ...

I have used Toyos on mine for years then just switched over to the Sumitomo cheapos from Tire Discounters. If you get them online let me know. I know someone that can mount and balance :D

Kumho MX's. I use them on my car which I autocross, but also drive quite a bit of highway miles with.
