ok guys and gals i need help my dad let me use his jeep and the plastic parts above the doors came out of the top does anybody know where i can get one since she lost one going down the highway and i am going to fix the top but i need that part thanks for the help and i need the part asap

I have an 87 wrangler with the half skin doors. Not sure what part you are talking about exactly. Try a junk yard like Trestlers in milford or there is a guy who deals only in jeeps parts and service on rt 131 across from smyths automotime where deerfield road intersects. Other than that you'll be stuck with the Jeep dealer and they will rape you. :doh:

it is actually on the top and it is the plastic peices you got to disconnect when you are putting the top down, it is sewing into the top

What year is the Jeep? I own a TJ (97-06) so I'm talking about my body style and I can't really talk about earlier or later versions as they may be slightly different.

Ok....so you're talking about the 2 plastic sliders that are sewn into the top and slide into the part that I was talking about before?

Other than those 2 plastic sliders (which are above each door), you only have the 2 windshield latches that hold the top up front.

If you are talking about the parts I first listed in this thread, I think you're out of luck and you'll need to buy a new top.

If you have an idea of another way to fix this, I do have my 10 year old stock soft top that I just took off and was getting ready to throw away. The top is black denim and has some minor tears along the edges and a 6"+/- tear in the top above the driver side sport bar. You can have the top if you think it'll do you any good.....just let me know.

I do have an extra top with tinted rear windows that I was gonna sell on Jeepforum.com, but I haven't heard from the guy in a couple of days.

It wouldn't work with my stock windows as the zippers were reversed. (I think the new top may be an 03+ top)

Take a look at the zippers on the rear windows and pay attention to whether the male end is on the window, or the female end (the actual zipper). Let me know....if it'll work, I'll make you a deal on an almost new top. ;)

the actual zipper part on one of the rear windows is on the window and on the other side it is on the top the jeep is a 2000 and if it will work what ki9nd of deal are we talking and what color top is it

I posted pics of both styles of tops so you could see the differences.

I have my factory 97 top, but like I posted it has a 6" tear and some other minor freying at some of the other corners (it's a 10 year old top, so it's not really in "bad" condition. I would only want to use it as a trail top.

I have the extra 03+ top which has a slightly different pattern than the 97-02 tops but most people probably wouldn't know the difference. (black denim = 97-02, black diamond = 03-06) You could keep the stock doors, use this top, and then purchase just the rear window kit (tinted or clear) from quadratec.com or 4wd.com (which is what I should have done.)

Like I said....it's sewn into the top. I think you're pretty much screwed. :(

You either gotta deal with it, or get a new top.

With it being a 2000, the top is almost 8 years old......it's pretty much due anyways.

A new top is $369-449 depending if you have full steel doors or half doors with upper skins.

If you want to buy my "slightly used top" for $100, use the stock doors, and pickup a new set of the side and rear windows to fit the new top for $180 (http://www.quadratec.com/products/product_search.php?cn=Bestop+Door+Skins+and+Window s&mn=Bestop&pn=21035.01,11036.XX~,11136,11038,11138,61048.51,6 1048.52,11138.XX,111386XX,11138.5XX). You'd have $280 in the top and rear windows, or you could add new upper doors (if so equipped) for another $210.
