I was just wondering how accurate you guys thought e waters scale was. Weighed the car last night, and just wondering if I should even go off that.

So what did it weigh? I'm guessing 3500lbs.

So does that mean they are accurate?

Car weighs 2925, and 3140 with me in it.

that seems a lil light.

allmost every scale is gonna be a little different.
I remember when I ran Real Street every track we went to my car weighed a little different. I was constantly adding and removing ballast to make weight.

how much fuel did you have?
do you weigh 215?

Yea, I weight exactly 215 and I had about 3/8 of a tank of fuel. There was also about 5 lbs of water on the scale before I drove on it, because of the rain.

I'm thinking thats quite a bit lighter than it should be too, so I'm wondering on the accuracy of the scale.

Thats sounds real light. You have a stock k member don't you? With stock heavy wheels and full interior I have a hard time believing that is all that it weighs. I could be wrong but I would try another scale at a truck stop just to get a second opinion.

Seems light to me too. My '89 GT weighed in at 3300, with my 172 pound ass, in the seat. There was no rear seat, sound deadening (in rear) removed, no spare tire and front inner fenders removed. Also had on Draglites, with skinnies and ET Streets on it. I doubt the ground effects make up that much difference.

I just weighed there myself ... I weigh 210 & had a half tank of gas ... still have stock k-member, a-arms & full interior ... scale read 3125 with me in it - i think its off?

I weighed my car a few months ago at a truck stop in Richwood and with the stock wheels and alittle less than a 1/2 tank of gas my car weighed 3200 even. Now last night I weighed my car at E2O and with the Welds on the car it weighed 3170 without me in it and alittle les than a 1/2 tank of gas in it. So I don't know? I am going to the same truck stop today to see what there scale says to day. I will post up the results later:confused:

Yea, stock k member and the wheels are insanely heavy. I don't have any rear seat though, all I have is a piece of carpet back there. I've got the hood, aluminum driveshaft, no a/c, no spare or jack, no door panels on yet, and no smog pump, but thats about it for weight reduction. The brakes may weigh a little less, but I never actually weighed them.

IMHO, I'd drive a little north to towards Franklin and the truckstops on I75, I'd check to see if one had a CAT scale, costs like 7-8, but Edgewater and Tristates scales have never been very accurate.

I used to weigh my Civic at work in Tricounty, they did allow other companys to use it if needed. Heaviest I ever saw on the scale was 110,000 lb scale dodger going to New York.

I'm not concerned with the weight of the car, I was just wondering if what I weighed was accurate.

I weighed my car at Edgewater several times last season and also scaled it with MD's 4 corner scales. I'd say Edgewater's scale was within 20 lbs of MD's scales. I wouldn't trust it if the scale had water on it though.

It was only showing 5 lbs of water when I was pulling on. If it really is somewhat accurate, I have no idea how the car is so light.

Ok, so 20-30 pounds puts it at, hmm........ 3270 pounds.

I doubt the brackets weigh 2 pounds apiece.

You should have been much lighter than that. My 97 with similar weight reduction weighed right at 3200 with me in it (170 lbs) and the SN-95's are typically heavier than fox cars. I had an 89 coupe years ago that only weighed 3050 with me in it and the only weight reduction was Draglites.
