You might be better off finding someone that will just trailer it for you. Going rate is $1/mile loaded, $.60/mile empty

What are you transporting?

If it's a collector car, or some irreplaceable, try Passport Transport. I know quite a few people that have used them to ship very expensive cars cross country.

If it's something "normal", there are hundreds of small operators that transport cars cross country. I don't have any recommendations offhand, but it might be worth calling a place like MD or Paul's Automotive and see if they know of anyone they have done business with that's reliable.

If this could be done on a saturday and sunday trip, I have an open trailer and a newer van that could pull it. If the money is right, I would give it a try.
