When adjusting pushrods should I use a different lifter? I've heard of people modifying there stock lifters to make them a solid so the adjustment could be made correctly. Please advise.
Thanks,
Bob

If you are trying to figure out what push rod length you need to buy then yes you need to make them solid by taking them apart and stacking washers in them or weld them up.

I don't mean to sound stupid, but how do they come apart? How many washers and can I put it back together and use it when finished?

There is a snap ring in the top, remove that and it comes apart. Use an old one.

You dont use a solid one to adjust the rockers, only to check pushrod length.
