No kidding! That's great! I sure wish I could get 20MPG in my truck, but 15 is about all I'm getting these days. I've got an '06 F-150 with the 5.4, but no 4x4. Any suggestions?

your truck must like the ULS diesel fuel. do you run an additive with it?

how in thew hell did you manage that i got a 2000 expedition and i am only getting 13-15 miles per gallon i need some help to get mine up that high what all have you done It's "only" a (6) cylinder! :HYF:

5.9L, inline 6, Cummins Turbo-Diesel. :bigthumb

For starters, it's running 3.54 gears, 4" open exhaust, BHAF (Big Honkin' Air Filter to the Cummins crowd), 5 Speed tranny, 285/70-16 Revos.

I do run Diesel Power Service with the Cetane Booster (does help BTW). It's also imperative that you keep the fuel filter clean.

Diesels are most efficient when the get warmed up and the engine is hot. Diesels are "cold" by their very nature and take a fair amount of time to getting to operating temperature. This effects MPGs greatly!

My daily commute (52 miles total) is 96% on the Highway. I "usually" hold it steady right around 65MPH or so. I use the Cruise control a good bit as well.

I ONLY drive my truck to work during the weekdays. I work 3rd Shift Tues Night - Sun AM (I work every weekend. - By choice- Nice weekend differential! :D ) Anyways, my AM commute goes right through the heart of Dayton's rush hour traffic.

Great thing about driving a big truck is ...NOBODY road-rages you!! :cool2: Can't remember the last time someone cut me off in traffic and I can't see people tailgating either! It's GREAT! :bigthumb

BTW, all my fuel savings costs go down the toilet on the weekends when I pull the Stang out of the garage!!! Sat/Sun AM are GREAT for "blowing out the carbon" (if you know what I mean! ;) ;) )

BTW, my truck's exhaust dumps right before the RR wheel and it's no longer is completely BLACK now after running ULSD!  :HYF: :bigthumb

I must have a bad injection pump then.

I can still stop traffic with dead dinosaur smoke and write on my bumper.:bigthumb

But seriously, the Power Service brand is good stuff. I had three free cases of Diesel Power additive and I made it over a year with that stuff. I loooved it, but after using it for free all that time I hate to spend money on it now.:(

You guys with the desiels should look into switching them over to vegetable oil waste. Don't think it cost much for the change over.

just got 22.3 on my daily driver (2000 GT) with mixed city/highway driving. (that surprised me) Average in my F-150 was 11.8 in the city.

My old Grand Cherokee got 11.5-12 mpg this past winter.
My 2.5L Wrangler is getting 15.7-16+ mpg now. (80% city, 20% highway)

I don't have a clue what the Cobra gets.......she hasn't seen a full tank of gas in about a year. :( Last time I checked she got about 16 mpg with mixed driving = lots of boost :D )

The wifes Equinox gets about 20 mpg.....mid/upper 20's on the highway.

Is that typical Hwy MPGs for 05+ GTs ???

My near stock '98 GT got 18-22 mpg around town and 26-28 mpg on the highway.

I even think my 03 would get low/mid 20's on the highway if I stayed out of the boost and kept it at a reasonable speed (under 80 :D )

No before the Viper Spec T56 and 4.30 gears I got 22-24 on the highway. When I went to the Stangbangerz Cruise I had 28" drag radials on and got 29+mpg there and back!!!

And that's AFTER compensating for the tire size/gear ratio differences ???

Filled up the TJ last night.....should have done it the night before. I paid $3.41/gal for 87.

On a good note I got 16.9 mpg on my last tank....nothing to write home about, but I got 11-12 mpg in my Grand Cherokee the entire winter, so I'll take 16-17 mpg in the city. :D

Prior to filling up the Jeep, I put $20 into the Cobra since it was on redline.....I got a whopping 5.5 gallons with 93 at $3.599/gal.

Sure is! :cool1: That is after compensating for gear ratio and tire sizes with the XCal2. The on board trip computer has always been within 0.1mpg vs hand calculation and I've verified my speedo via GPS. When you are turning ~2000rpm @80mph you tend to get good mileage :)

Did your 98 run 12's?

Uhhhh...I said it was "near stock" so take a guess.

I wish the T-56 in my 03 had the Viper spec input shaft and that 6th gear.....I'd actually gear the car if it did. (still probably will eventually, but I have enough traction problems now even on DR's :D )

Sorry, Just ribbing you a little bit man. Even through all the frustrations I've gone through with the shifter setup on this tranny the strength and gearing advantages have far outweighed that so far. I think through some creative work we will have the shifter issue fixed in a week or so.

See...the technology is out there (for high efficiency and high performance) so WT* can't Ford (and other manufacturers) sell cars like yours off the showroom floor ??
