I will be there but I will be racing brackets like usual since they won't allow people with powerglides to run UMTR.

I plan on being there and bringing another friend...
the weather looks like a 30% chance of rain around here from
Thursday til' Monday of next week...

Hopefully it will be 0% for Muncie.... :)

Now, the question is... can I get it to go a 12.2x.... :bigthumb

tranny not gonna' be fixed by the weekend, wrong parts ordered, apparently there's a split in the model year. No tranny, no car, no Muncie - I hate f**king life! that's 2 races I'll miss, kiss my points goodbye.

Sorry to hear the bad news Cathy.

I am having starter issues myself. But hope to make the journey.

I could use a crew chief.

Don't hate life over a car, it's not worth it. You have a beautiful grandson, screw racing, spend some quality time with him this holiday weekend! ;)

You are absolutely right, Holly. Shame on me for being whiny. It's just so frustrating when you have a plan and something you want to do and then you have no control over the way it plays out.

I talked to Travis this morning and he was saying he may have to do some work on the trans in your truck. If you get the Stang tranny done and need a truck to get up there take mine. Its just sitting here anyways. ;)

Truck is OK... but the Mustang needs put back together, which, from what I understand won't be happening in time for Muncie. So, she really needs a stick shift vehicle to make a couple of passes in to get points.

I love it when a plan comes together!

I was worried about the camaro after the last race. There was a nasty knocking coming from the engine compartment. I thought I blew the Quarter or nickel I welded on the header to plug holes (that's the 30cent repair) so we drove 'er home. I looked it over and the change was still there. Turned out being a lock from one of the Pro-Magnum rockers got loose and was at the top of the stud so the rocker arm was hitting the valve cover. That could've gotten bad-ugly. She's all back together and ready for another battle now.

Any word on the official caravan starting point and time?

ponymom05

If memory serves me right, it was about a 3 hour trip last year towing a trailer. Probably could cut that down w/o towing. Gates open at 2. Last year there was a long line waiting at the gates.

Last year we also took I-75N and cut across somewhere(?) and took back roads. On the way home we came back down Rt 3 and into I-74. Much better route. I'm going to head up 74 to Greensburg and pick up Rt 3 to 67/28. I may have to jump off I-74 at North Bend Rd. real quick to pick up a rider, not sure.

How many want to meet and caravan?

Well you beat me to it. I was thinking same thing today at work, because I'm not exactly sure where I'm going. I would like to meet just keep in mind 4.30's for me and 70mph is 3000. so if you can stay under 85 most the way I'm good.:dummy:

Shame on you John for using such language on here. There are certain four-letter words that are not appropriate and should only be used in front of the children - RAIN, SNOW, COLD - now take it back!

I know deep down you're just intimidated by the Super #1 Ricer I'll be driving. Don't be afraid of it, I don't even think it has a huge tailpipe tip. Without an uber-huge tip, a Honda can't go too fast, right?! ;)

Right now, I am not going to make it unless I can get a starter. Or I will need someone to push me each time to pop the clutch.

Went to Sunoco and filled her up and it would not start. Luckily I was still close to work and I got a cuy to come over to help. Ended up popping clutch to get it started.

Its up on stands now, when it cools. Plan to whack it with a hammer. Starters have gotten smaller over the years.

Oh well.

Well, that bit the big one. 2 1/2 hours up only to find the dragstrip had cancelled "due to weather". Guess they don't race on dry days  There were a few sprinkles when I got on Rt 3, but one swipe of the wipers and it was gone. Not a drop of water on the ground anywhere near the track. Karl/UMTR was as shocked as anyone when he arrived. Sorry to those who made the trip for nothing. Not what we wanted to do with the price per gallon these days. I was driving a little Honda, can only imagine the pain to others wallets on this wasted day. 6 hours in the car and all I got was a sunburned forearm from the driver's window!

Yep, we made the trip too. We seen a few folks on their way from the track, and a few others showed up while we had our picnic. Oh well. It was a nice little country cruise. April and I are going to see Pirates of the Carribean III tonight now so all is not lost....

I am with you. the crowd at E20 is getting bigger and bigger every race, so why do we need to travel to a hole in the wall dive just to get screwed by some sorry ass hill jacks that don't care enough that an out of town race is being held there. If they couldnt notify the people at UMTR that is was cancelled then there shouldnt be a make up date, Especially there.

That did bite the big one. It cost me $75 in gas not to mention the almost 6 hours of driving. I suggest next time we all go to travel, we get a phone list from everyone so we can start calling whoever hasn't gotten there yet. at least keep everyone from having to go to the gates to find out. this includes going to Columbus.

I agree Kathy! I called like 10 people trying to get Craigs cell # when he passed us. We saw you and tried to wave you down but it was to no avail. We all need to atleast get with Karl and see if he wants the #'s. If he does not want the responabilty then I say we all get together and swap #'s. I think it would save people alot of money and time, if this ever happens again.

Sort of like an emergency phone chain! It might work. Karl doesn't have a cell, so we'd need to start elsewhere. Not sure when Jon will be returning, but he has one. We nned a plan before July 1st at Indy. I can talk to Karl this week if we come up with something.

UMTR North sat in the rain for 4 1/2 hours at Thompson before they would call it! I'll take our day over their's.

i say we just get everyone's cell number together and the first person to find out can start the calls. we can make a list and you call the person whose name follows yours. we'd just need to get a decent head count on who is going. i'd just like to save someone the same confusion I had when people were heading back home and I was wondering what was up. i felt bad also because we couldn't contact anyone. we tried calling cincy speed in case anyone tried them but there was no answer.
i'd be happy to get something together for the Columbus trip. hopefully we won't need it but just in case.
