I've had some cash burning a hole in my pocket for a couple of months, and have yet to find quite what I am looking for...

- LX 5.0, the newer the better
- must be a 5-speed
- notch preferred, hatch ok
- not interested in GTs or convertables
- no rust, driver quality paint at least
- trying to avoid bright red and black cars
- no flames, stripes, or other custom paint
- I really want power windows
- a clean car is more important to me than a fast car

I have up to about $6k to spend, but the less I spend on a car the more money I will have for suspension upgrades (looking at the Steeda 5-link II and front coilovers if anyone cares).

So far I have been checking about 20-25 sites (ebay, autotrader, buckeyestangs, corral, mustangforums, louisvillestreets, columbusracing, indycarz, etc.. etc.) on a daily basis for cars for sale and have not had much luck. Everything is either ragged out, really far away, nicer/faster than I can afford, has some flashy custom paint, or otherwise doesn't appeal to me.

I'm sort of a picky guy, but my Dad always taught me to start with the cleanest car you can get, and I plan on having this car for a while.

Thanks a bunch guys, and hopefully I will be a Mustang owner soon.

CAMN302: I saw your ad here, and it did spark my interest. Do you have the stock hood and hinges? Is the tach screwed to the dash, and if so, is that section of the dash easily replacable? It seems like a decently clean car, but looks like more of a drag car than I want.

SMOKE: Looks like a pretty nice '86 you got, but right now I'm trying for something a little newer (unless it's an SVO).

Sorry someone had to move this thread, I'm new here and didn't think a WTB post looking for a car belonged in "Wanted Parts."

Yeah I wouldn't mind that Calypso coupe, and wish I woulda checked out the red one before it sold. Only problem is the Calypso is priced at a point where I would not be able to buy the suspension upgrades I would need to do.

My last project car was a modded 1g Neon ACR, I am used to something with near 1.0g cornering capabilities. I've been told I will be very disappointed in stock Fox cornering (I still have never driven one).

Thanks a bunch guys, keep 'em coming! I guess at this point I am hoping someone will know of a car that isn't being advertised, or not on the internet.

Scored some more cash, budget is now closer to $8k. Time for me to look for higher-priced options, but let me know if you know of anything! Thanks!

just a word of advice if you are going to build the car the way you want dont already buy a modified one start with a car budget and find a car in that price range and the make a list if mods you want to do to the car and get a budget for it
