Yeah, we were home early cause the tranny took a crap after the first pass. Seriously doubt this is gonna' be under warranty.........

We are going to make some calls and see if it is covered under warranty... then decide what we have to do to return the car to stock to take it to the dealer.

Basically, I made ONE pass last night. Launched hard, spun through first and second gear. Went back to the trailer to let some more air out of the tires. Went back to the staging lanes to wait. I was motioned to come forward and get my card punched and it wouldn't go anywhere. First and second is loose and sloppy. Cannot get it into 3-4-5-R. We are thinking shift fork...

if you have trouble with the dealer, i can see if the guy that fixed my tranny can do yours. he does a really good job. let me know if you need anything?

Cathy, you could always come and pay your entry and collect three points for breakage I think. 3 points is better than none plus it would give a good tie breaker.

Yeah, that's what I'm planing on doing. Also going to tow Jeremy down. I'm not positive if I pay my fee at the gate that I actually get 3 points. Wondering if I have to attempt to qualify??? Oh well, it'll just feed the pot anyway. I'll be there with tears in my eyes.......

Just a shift fork, usually doesn't hurt much.

The cast Alum chews up easily.......

unless it wipes 2/3's of the teeth of the synchro :( locking you into 2nd gear.

PS it is my Honda, but this breakage issue is why I wanna learn about the Ford 5 speeds.

Our friend Jeremy doesn't have a lot of extra time but knows what to look for in the tranny...says if we (Craigels) can get the car torn apart - exhaust and I don't know what else taken off, get the tranny on the floor, he'll stop by and look inside it. If it's just the shift forks, he can fix it. Problem is Craig doesn't have a lot of spare time and works weird hours. So if anyone wants to come by later and disaasemble a pretty Mustang, I have a great garage to work in!!

If this doesn't pan out, or Jeremy can't fix it, Kathy Powell has hooked me up with her tranny guy, I'll be calling him. I am hoping to have it fixed by Muncie.
