Well I found out today that i have a broken ring in my motor. So im thinking of what to do now. Ive got it narrowed down to an aftermarket block 331 with my blower......or...... an early 70's 351w block with either a 393 or 408. I know there's alot more parts to buy with the 393 or 408. But..... I would like to have the added displacement. What will the early 70's windsor block hold up to with main supports and quality internals? I know I can build a dart block 331 that will hold well over 1000. Which would be possible with my blower, I believe. But its gonna cost me.
So let me know what you guys think. I dont car if it takes me until next winter. Im not putting a stock block back in my car. Thanks

I say Dart 331 and pulley up.

Opps, I voted before reading it entirely. If those are the only options I want to change my vote to the 331, but if you are going to the expense of a dart block remember there is no replacement for displacement. Why not a Dart block 427?

I would say a 351w based stroker hands down. The extra displacement will be awesome. I just hear a lot of guys saying how they wish they would have gone with 351w based windsors, instead of building up 302's. Isn't a dart block around the same price for a 351w and 302?? If so, do a dart 427.
