Well there was chance back in the early 90's the production of Mustangs was going to go away to the new Probe. Luckly they kepted it.

Still how much did the Mustang Change the idea of the car? The pony car is in such a high demand still. What would Ford eventually would of design if the Mustang never existed? What happened if Gm or Chrysler beat them to the pony car segment??? This hurt my head!

I dont no what you are thinking but the one i have is one of the fastest production cars that that i have drove , i also had a ls1 car and i think the gto is faster. If the car was a auto it will not let it kick down to where you think it should. They are a pretty heavy car to. I dont no of any na factory mustangs that will run with them and i would be willing to bet it would give a factory 03 04 cobra a good run for its money.[ not saying the gto would win ]

Like i said i had a 2000 LS1 FIREHAWK and i think the gto is faster.I can not help that the mustangs have to weigh less because they lack horsepower.I just bought a 01 gt and it is one of the slowest cars i have ever owned. All i am useing it for is a daily driver. The cobra is supercharged and would hope it was faster but i think it would be closer than some would think.
