Is the boot around the booster rod/brake pedal supposed to have holes in it for any reason? I tracked my hissing to a hole in the rubber boot under the dash around the brake assembly. I have never looked at any others to know if this is a problem or not.
BTW, my pedal is soft, but I just think I need to re-bleed my brakes.

there are usually a few holes that are precut right around where the boot attaches to the booster, like 6 of em, not sure why, but if you hear that noise and you have a soft pedal, its very likely your booster is in the process of taking a crap on you.

usually when the booster is taking a dump the brakes get hard.... because you are loosing the power assit provided by the vacuum assist. when does it hiss..
