Just browsing though the Craftsman Ad and anyone that owns craftsman ratchet can go up there and trade-in their old one for the next generation ratchet. It has the new 60 tooth 6 degree ratcheting arc..pretty nice for tight areas. It ends 4/28 though!

1/4 ratchet =$3.00 off new ratchet
3/8 ratchet =$5.00
1/2 ratchet =$7.00

Just thought I'd let you all know:D

New tools kick ass

Is this an even trade??!!..I have a few. I hope I just don't get a discount on the new one. That would make a lifetime warrentee worthless.

no you trade in your old one and get the discount off the new generation ratchet. They are pretty neat in the pics. new design and tooth ratio.

seems with each new generation they are easier to break.

I agree...and since it's not an even trade, I'll keep my current stuff.

I wonder if I can trade even my old broken ones for newer rebuilt ones. Lifetime replacement should mean that.

Yes, if you have an older generation tool that is broken, you will get the newer generation for free.

That's kinda stupid....if it's not broken you have to pay to get a new one...break it, and the new one is free.

not really, craftsman has a lifetime warranty, they aren't going to warranty a non broken part

I was in there today...they still carry and have tons of the old style. If you take in a broken one they just give you whatever they carry that is closest to yours....so if you take in an old one you will probably get a rebuilt version of it.

That was my understanding....they still produce the old version...So if you break your old style, you get the same rebuilt version. Cause the next gen, is more expensive than the old. Im gonna go tomorrow, Ill find out for sure.

I know on sockets, they gave me a few of hte newer laser eteched ones, in replacement for my old ones.

On a broken screwdriver, they gave me newer version of the professional line.

I'll stick to overpaying for a new MAC/SnapOn/Matco/Cornwell/S-K/etc.... for when the Crapsman breaks again.....Even if they aren't as conveinent of stopping at a mall and getting a new one....

I hate the laser etched sockets.....it ends up wearing off.

When they were getting rid of the old sets I bought quite a few. $9.99 for 9-10 sockets and a 3/8" ratchet.....I bought a metric set for every toolbox.

I do like the Snap on Ratchets. As far as my craftsman ratchets go if they work who cares if it is the new style. I would rather keep the old one and buy a new one and have an extra for the $3-$7

I am sure I have 5 or 6 broken craftsman ratchets the 1/4 inch ones are worthless. I have owned every brand of ratchet you can think of. Snap-on, Mac, Matco. IMO S&K ratchets are by far the best.
