 This has to be the wildest thing for racing I've seen in a long time.

Ya know, on a dyno if the straps break, you can really tear your car up....on THAT thing, the car is gonna go flying!

I can see it now, your traveling at a simulated 180mph and the belt seizes, that'd be like launching on the transbrake straight through your garage! =)

That's what i'm saying...like trying to go from 0-180 instantly

looks like cables hook to the frame of the car to hold it in place. the car, i would assume, is just a rolling chassis or an actual race trim car not under power. if anyones ever been around a steel processing facilty when coils (rolls) are being fed through the "line"...if the steel belt breaks at the speeds to simulate 180mph...you can bet the car will be junk, as will anything else in the path of the flying, slicing sheet of steel!!

I always wondered how acurate the results were in a conventional wind tunnel. Underbody flows have a huge effect on downforce, and w/o a rolling floor, you can't test them accurately. This is a huge advancement in aerdynamic testing.
But, where is the wind tunnel? I suppose they're just testing out the rig now, then will it into a tunnel.

I think that this year nascar is stoping the wind tunnel testing.
