Hi
Iam building a new computer and think my 450v power supply is doa:eek:. The fan doesn't start at all, though the power led on the board does go green. No matter what the power supply fan should start correct?? The cpu fan and the video board fan don't start either.

I would check the inputs with a tester. I also have never seen a 450v power supply, 220 yes but not a 450. Is the switch in back on 110? If it's set for a higher voltage but it's only getting 110 that might make it not want to work.
That's about all I got. Hope it helps.

450 volts would run fast for a short time then probably flames.... typo time met to type 450 watts. It is set to 110 volt input. I'll go down and get my meter..

Just a good tip- to test a ATX PSU with out putting it in a computer is to connect (or ground) the purple wire out of the connector to ground (black) while the psu is plugged in.
If it is working, it will power up and out put 12v and 5v accordingly.

Why? If Vista is so bad, wouldn't you be worried about not getting a beer?
