Just got my first set of slicks( thanks stangjames0351 ). They are Hoosier quicktime pro 26x9.5x15. I was wondering what type of pressure to run in the tubes. I've heard of some guys running low pressure, and screwing the tire to the wheels:confused: Any suggestions appreciated. I've never ran slicks before, and am pretty stoked to run 'em with my new 4.10. Thanks, Mike

Start with them about 18psi and lower them untill they work good for you. I would say keep at least 10psi in them.

hey man when i used them i found that if u put them at 11 psi an then do your burn out in the water box it brings the psi up a few psi like 13 psi,,an thats where i got them to hook the best ,,but u can play with them an find out where u like it to be ,,, later

If you are running them with tubes in them...they NEED to be screwed to the rims. If you are running them without tubes..then you don't. If you run tubes without rim screws you risk having the slicks spin on the rims and rip the valve stem off the tube.

Thanks Jeff, Are rim screws something that is needed once you get below a certain psi, or are they needed always. Also, can i get these at cincy speed?? Thanks, Mike

If you use tubes they are always needed. Yes..Cincy Speed stocks rim screws. For what it's worth..I have never run tubes in my slicks.

i have never used screws or tubes myself ... i usually run about 10 psi (hot) and my et streets may move an inch the entire season ... just mount them and see what happens, if problems occur: then go through your process ... :bigthumb

Thanks for the response fellas. Just found out only one slick has a tube due to a slow leak. Is it possible to plug/patch a slick, and remove the tube?? or would you suggest keeping the tube in, and screwing it on?, Mike

hey Mike you can mark some paint or whatever on the tire and wheel in a straight line so u can see how much slippage if any the tires get during your track fun :bigthumb

just like the funnycar guys
