Going to buy some spring for the car this week. How low should I take it? And what kind do you guys use? Dont want to go to low but it needs to look mean.

I like the Eibach Sportlines. I think they drop a car 1.75 inches. I ve had them on a bunch of cars and loved them.

Yes for sure. If not it your car will sit lower in the back.

I love how the Eibach Sportlines look, but be careful if you run full length headers...they'll scrape everything. I'm currently running the Pro Kit and i like them a lot but they sit a little high in the back, and i still scrape the occasional speed bump with my headers.

also if you are going with anything lower then 1.5 inches then you should look into getting a fox strut for up front. They are an inch shorter stroke and will make for a better ride. If you use a standard sn95 strut there will be less compression for the piston and it may bottom out depending on how weak they are. I've had air ride, pro kit, sportlines, MM road race coilovers, and now my current drag set up on my 96GT. If your looking for a lower stance then the pro kit is good. If you like the slammed look then the sportlines are the way to go. if you like dropping the whole car for car shows/parking and beign able to drive over speed bumps then air ride is a good choice. hope this helps

watch out going too low if you are using aftermarket oil pans. i had a Moroso pan, and even though they claimed it didnt hang down any further than the OE pan, i think the square shape made it easier to get scraped now and then, cause it had a heck of a lot more scrapes on it than the OE pan EVER had!
Like Bobsgt said, just depends on what kind of driving, and where you will be driving. good luck...and post up some pics when done!

I wish this thread would have been here 3 months ago.
I'm about to install my Sportlines..... with my full lengths..... Lets hope I never back up over a speedbump, else I might lose some clearance under the cowl hood...lololol

About that larger oil pan (I got a Canton 7qt.), I have thought about getting some 1/8" or thinner steel plate and trying to create some kind of skid plate either welded to the pan or bolted to the k-member somehow...anyone ever do something like that?

i have not done it either, but i too have thought of putting a thin plate on the bottom of the pan just to help a little.

I've used Eibach Sportlines on my 03 GT and a 95 probe GT. Love'em. Dropped me about 2" on the stang and my long tubes don't hit anything.

I have H&R Super Sports on my vert. I also am running BBK shorties though so I don't know if long tubes would hit with them. Gives it a great stance though.

H&R Supersports give verts a wicked stance.
Once i get to the suspension stage that is what mine will be getting.
