Ok guys...... I like my rims and already have Moser 31 spline axles in the back.
I also have a Stock Brake system that is over due for replacement.

I can get a Baer setup and stay with 4 lug.... It has 13's in the front, :) and I'm going with a 11 3/8 in rotor in the back so I can fit a 15 inch rim of the back for Slicks... :D

Would you all do this or would you sell the rims and axles and go with 5 lug?

How many 4 lugs have you seen at the track sheer off the studs? How much stronger is a 5 lug system? Any input on this will be helpful.

Thanks

Only reason most guys go 5 lug it the better choice in rims. Aerospace makes race brakes in 4 lug still. 4 lug is plenty strong enough....if your worried..upgrade to 5/8" studs in the rear. There are plently of guys going mid 8's with 4 lug still (nmra renegade/Dr cars).

Not only that, but you also have better choices of brakes(price-wise), and better ackerman steering. Thats only if he goes with sn95 spindles though too.

If it was me, I'd do the 5 lug. The Baer front calipers are the same as Cobra calipers. All you're paying for is the name.

It'll mainly come down to how much you wanna spend too.

I think alot of the drag radial guys are going to 5/8s studs and 5 lug. The Radials shake the tires real bad and break all kinds of stuff. You could always put 5/8's studs in your 4 lug setup.

Thanks guys. It looks like I will stick with the 4 lug for a bit..... at least till the tranney is in the car and it is back on the street.

Also, I have to get the motor running again and see how much vaccum I have to run the brakes. The cam is pretty big... and the Baer kit I want uses vaccum and it might not work if I don't have any. Just a thought. I wonder if the would work with manual brakes? Any thoughts on this guys?
