I decided (with the help of Vinny's mom and my sister) to have him cremated, as most of you probably know. I didn't want the typical urn (you know, like the one in Meet the Parents where it falls off the fireplace and the cat uses it for litter). Vinny deserved a special urn, something more fitting to him.

It contains his remains, but we all know Vinny is up in heaven smiling down on us. I think he would approve of what I have done.

I know this may be a little weird - but SBZ was his family, and I'm sure he would want me to share this with you guys.

The first one is the top view (car) - taken by the Cavalcade of Customs photography people.

The second one is the side view (name).

I have a hard time coming to this site since Vinny died...everytime I do, I see a post like this and tear up. I know many of you knew him so much better than I. But he made such a big impact on me. I really wish I got to know him better :(

I also think that a picture of Vinny..Holly and Amanda all together would've been a really nice touch. I know Stangbangerz was a big part of his life, but Holly and Amanda is what Vinny loved the most...that's what kept him striving and doing everything he could to take care of them the best he could. Holly and Amanda and the rest of his family and friends meant more to him than anything in the world....

Every day I am still trying to overcome the fact that my brother is gone and I'm certain Holly is doing the same. Just about a week and a half ago, my mom called and told me my aunt (about the 11th out of 12 brothers and sisters) was going to have open heart surgery. My first thought that almost came out of my mouth was "did you call Vince and tell him." And then I thought of my mom. The 14th was her birthday. Vince was always notorious for sending his cards late, if any at all. As I was looking for a card for her, there were the cards "from your son." And I was sad because I thought, my mom will never get one of those cards again. I struggle everyday to just stay positive for my mom. And I suck as a sister-in-law because I still have yet to call Holly. We text back and forth, but I know if I talk to her on the phone, tears will just fall. I give her a lot for having the struggles of losing a husband and I can hear him making car noises as he rests in his urn.

Holly, the urn is so perfect for Vinny. You did such a great job on the personization of his urn. It probably would have been the same way on a headstone if you had buried him.....just not as shiny. lol
I am starting to think that cremation is the way to go these days. You ca always keep your loved ones with you. Unfortunately, that may mean I won't have a job soon (I am graduating from mortuary school soon. Embalmings, funerals, etc). But, that's ok.
You are a stronger woman than I Holly, good for you. You will need it for a long time to come.

We know this - that's part of what keeps us going. Amanda and I each have a locket - we carry a piece of him around with us everyday.
