I brought a set of P heads to a local machine shop to have them cleaned, ported, ground, and assembled and they wanted to sell me new stainless 1-piece valves.
My cam is .490 int, .520 exh, and the new springs are 110 lbs at the seat.
Would I be at risk with the stock valves?
What do people with similar seat pressures do?
I would rather not end up with $700 tied up in a set of mild cast iron heads...

You should be just fine with the stock valves. Just don't run the stock valve springs on them.

That's what I was hoping to hear! I picked them up. I am not going to let anyone that I am not completely comfortable with play with my toys.
Heads Up is going to do them for me.

WOW! That'll be pricey. How much that going to set you back?? Stock valves should work fine, Heads up is known for good work, but very pricey.

Not cheap, but I know I will be happy with the result.

Heads up has done a couple of sets of heads for me, very good work. BTW rick88coupe has that air filter at his house if you want to pick it up.
